Satish Sharma Praises Bharat Scouts and Guides for Role in Nation Building and Youth Empowerment
JAMMU, December 29, 2025: Highlighting the profound impact of value-based education, Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, lauded the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BS&G) for their century-long contribution to shaping the character and commitment of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a special function attended by DG Youth Services and Sports Anuradha Gupta and other senior officials, the Minister described the movement not as a mere extracurricular activity, but as a way of life that instills discipline, moral integrity, and a sense of duty toward the country.
He conveyed warm greetings from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, emphasizing that the UT branch continues to produce socially aware citizens who form the backbone of a resilient and service-oriented society.
Minister Satish Sharma particularly commended the Scouts and Guides for their bravery as first responders during natural calamities. Recalling their tireless efforts during past devastating floods and emergencies, he noted how they worked alongside the Armed Forces and civil administration to provide relief and hope to thousands.
Reaffirming the government’s dedication to holistic youth development, the Minister announced a significant contribution of ₹11 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to support the organization’s initiatives. He urged the young Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers to uphold the spirit of “Service Before Self,” ensuring they remain vital contributors to the progress and safety of the nation.
