MENDHAR December 29, 2025: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir achieved a significant breakthrough today after recovering an unidentified drone abandoned in a forward village in the Poonch district.
Acting on specific intelligence, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the J&K Police launched a swift operation this afternoon in Gohled village, located in the sensitive Mendhar sector.
Upon reaching the site, a police party discovered the drone lying in an open field, suggesting it may have been used for unauthorized cross-border activity or surveillance.
The drone was immediately seized and taken into custody for technical forensic analysis. While no immediate payload or suspicious material was reported to be attached to the device, authorities have launched an intensive investigation to trace its flight path and identify its origin.
Officials stated that security has been further beefed up in the forward areas of the Mendhar sector, and local residents have been urged to report any unusual aerial activity.
