BJP Slams Mehbooba Mufti’s Opposition to CRPF Land Allotment as Treasonous and Politically Reckless

JAMMU, DECEMBER 20, 2025: Girdhari Lal Raina, former MLC and BJP spokesperson, has issued a scathing condemnation of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti following her opposition to the allotment of land for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Pulwama district. Terming her stance as “treasonous” and “politically reckless,” Raina argued that her remarks are driven by a desperate need to remain relevant after being rejected by the electorate.

He emphasized that while dissent is a right in a constitutional democracy, it cannot be used to undermine national security or the morale of security forces tasked with protecting civilians. Raina further highlighted the hypocrisy of the former Chief Minister, noting that while she and her party leadership enjoy round-the-clock protection from these very forces, she seeks to deny them the basic infrastructure and secure bases necessary to perform their duties in sensitive, terrorism-affected areas.

The BJP spokesperson expressed grave concern over the PDP’s use of divisive rhetoric, warning that inciting public sentiment against security institutions directly endangers lives on the ground. Raina also criticized Mufti’s “selective secularism,” pointing to her past silence on the suppression of women’s freedoms by radical elements—such as the disbanding of the all-girls band ‘Pragaash’—and her refusal to speak against atrocities faced by Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.

He concluded that projecting routine administrative land allotments for security personnel as malicious is factually incorrect and deliberately misleading. According to Raina, Jammu and Kashmir requires leadership that upholds the national interest and stands firmly with the forces safeguarding the region, standards he claims Mehbooba Mufti and the PDP have repeatedly failed to meet.
