Ramban Police Crack Down on Narcotics: Four Arrested as District Reinforces Zero-Tolerance Drug Policy

Ramban 19 December :- In a significant blow to local drug trafficking, the Ramban Police apprehended four individuals in two separate anti-narcotics operations today, December 19, 2025.

These actions are part of a sustained district-wide drive aimed at protecting the youth and eradicating the drug menace. The first success occurred during a routine patrol from Karol to Maitra, where officers inspected a vehicle parked near Konsi Nalla and discovered approximately 80–100 grams of a charas-like substance in the possession of two residents, identified as Wasim Ahmed and Nitu Singh.

Legal proceedings under the NDPS Act have been initiated against both suspects.Simultaneously, the Banihal Police intercepted two suspects, Javid Ahmed Khan and Azad Ahmed, both hailing from Kupwara, during a traffic checkpoint at Kharpura-Chowk. Despite an attempt to flee the scene, the duo was swiftly apprehended, and a search revealed 10–14 grams of a heroin-like substance hidden in their clothing. Consequently, FIR No. 136/2025 has been registered at the Banihal Police Station.

Reaffirming their zero-tolerance policy, the Ramban Police emphasized their commitment to a drug-free society and urged the public to continue sharing timely information to help eliminate narcotics from the region.
