Security Forces Launch Massive Search Operation in Rajouri After Suspicious Movement Reports
Rajouri, December 19: A high-alert security operation is currently underway across several villages in the Rajouri district following reports of suspicious individuals moving through the region. The extensive search operation was initiated around midnight on Thursday after intelligence inputs suggested the presence of unidentified persons in the forest and residential belts located between the Thanamandi and Manjakote subdivisions. In a swift response, joint teams comprising the 49 Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) established a dense security cordon under the cover of darkness to prevent any potential escape.
As dawn broke on Friday, the operation intensified with aggressive ground searches concentrated in the Behrote Gali area and surrounding hamlets. Official sources indicate that security personnel are meticulously combing the rugged terrain and dense foliage characteristic of the Jammu division’s border districts. While no direct contact has been reported yet, the area remains under strict vigil, and entry and exit points to these villages have been regulated to ensure public safety. This heightened security measure follows a period of persistent monitoring in the region as forces remain committed to neutralizing any potential threats to peace.
