Lieutenant Governor reviews donations management system at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine
JAMMU, July 16:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting with the members and senior officials of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at the Spiritual Growth Centre in Katra to review the offerings and donations management system. The meeting focused on ensuring complete transparency, accountability, and strict adherence to established standard operating procedures regarding the collection, counting, accounting, safeguarding, and utilization of the offerings made by devotees at the holy shrine.
A detailed presentation highlighted the institutional mechanisms implemented by the board for handling contributions received through donation boxes, counters, online platforms, and in the form of precious metals. The board members were briefed on the verification processes, surveillance mechanisms, banking safeguards, and periodic audits that govern every stage of financial management in conformity with prescribed norms and central government guidelines.
The board expressed full satisfaction with the existing arrangements, noting the stringent security protocols and the secure processing of precious metals through government-approved institutions like the Reserve Bank of India and the India Government Mint in Hyderabad.
