Awareness programme on PM Vishwakarma Scheme held in Samba
SAMBA, July 16:-The MSME Development and Facilitation Office in Jammu, operating under the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, collaborated with the Samba district administration to organize a one-day awareness programme on branding and marketing under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
Held at the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Complex, the event aimed to educate beneficiaries, local artisans, and entrepreneurs on digital marketing, financial inclusion, product packaging, and government support schemes to help boost their market competitiveness and income.
The event opened with an introductory address by MSME-DFO Jammu Assistant Director Arvind Kumar Sharma, who provided a detailed overview of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and highlighted the commitment of the central government to supporting craftspeople through skill upgradation, toolkit incentives, credit support, and market linkages.
Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan, who attended as the chief guest, encouraged the participants to leverage these government initiatives and embrace digital platforms and branding strategies to take their traditional crafts to national and international markets.
During the technical sessions, various experts shared valuable insights with the attendees. Ajay Kumar from the PMU Team in Jammu explained the specific features of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, while District Industries Centre Functional Manager Pallavi discussed the various union territory schemes available for entrepreneurs.
Dr Naresh Kumar from the Central University of Jammu spoke on digital marketing strategies for small businesses, Kanav Kapahi demonstrated how artificial intelligence tools can assist in digital promotion, and MSME-DFO Jammu Assistant Director Anurag Sharma concluded the technical segment with a briefing on general MSME support schemes.
The event drew participation from around 200 artisans, entrepreneurs, bank representatives, and government officials.
