Jammu Fire Safety Drive: JMC Commissioner Assures Support for Commercial Fire NOC Compliance
JAMMU, JULY 16, 2026 — In a proactive effort to bolster public safety and enforce statutory norms, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav today conducted an extensive field inspection across major commercial hubs, including Jewel Chowk, Bakshi Nagar, Subhash Nagar, and Vivekananda Chowk.
During the visit, Dr. Yadav engaged directly with the management of private hospitals, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, and other business enterprises to review their Fire No Objection Certificate (Fire NOC) compliance. Emphasizing a collaborative rather than punitive approach, the Commissioner announced that businesses have been granted a 30 to 45-day grace period to obtain the mandatory certification, assuring that no coercive action will be taken against establishments that actively apply and implement the required safety protocols within this timeframe.
The initiative aims to cultivate a robust fire safety culture across Jammu, with the JMC working alongside the Chamber of Commerce, Hotel Associations, and trade bodies to achieve 100 percent compliance to protect local lives and property.
