BJP Honors Legacy of Dr. Ambedkar with Tributes Across Jammu and Kashmir
JAMMU, April 14, 2026:- The Bharatiya Janata Party organized widespread commemorative events across Jammu and Kashmir today to honor the birth anniversary of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
Senior leaders and party members gathered at various locations to offer floral tributes to the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, recognizing his monumental role in advocating for social justice and national unity.
In Jammu, the primary ceremony was led by State President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, who was joined by several legislators and district officials. The gathering focused on Ambedkar’s lifelong mission to eliminate social barriers and his vision for an inclusive India where every citizen enjoys equal rights regardless of their background.
During his address in Jammu, Sat Sharma highlighted the deep respect the current administration holds for the legacy of Ambedkar, noting that his contributions to nation-building are more relevant today than ever. He expressed that while historical political shifts occasionally sidelined his influence, the present government under Narendra Modi is actively working to integrate his principles into national policy.
Sharma pointed out that the commitment to the underprivileged and marginalized communities remains a cornerstone of the party’s governance model. By focusing on equitable growth and dignity for all, the leadership aims to fulfill the promise of a balanced society that Ambedkar envisioned during the drafting of the Constitution.
Simultaneously, a major commemorative event took place in Bandipora, Kashmir, led by General Secretary Ashok Koul. Addressing the members at the local party office, Koul reiterated that the ideals of social equality continue to serve as a guiding force for the organization’s regional policies.
He emphasized that concrete steps have been taken to ensure that the rights of the downtrodden are protected and that development reaches even the most remote corners of the territory.
Various other district units, including leaders from the Kashmir Displaced District and the Jammu District office, participated in the day’s activities, reaffirming their collective dedication to the values of empowerment and justice championed by Ambedkar.
