Spreading the Joy of Reading: Naval War College Hosts Inspiring Literary Fest at Station Mandovi
MANDOVI, JULY 18, 2026:- In a vibrant effort to cultivate a love for literature and community bonding, the Naval Wives/War College Community (NWC) organized a captivating literary gathering at the Chola Bhawan on July 17. Held in collaboration with the Pune Authors Association, the event was designed to spread the joy of reading among the staff and families stationed at Mandovi. The festival was officially inaugurated by Rear Admiral Arjun Dev Nair, Commandant of the NWC, who spent time interacting with the guest writers and praising their contributions to the literary world.
The interactive event offered families—especially enthusiastic young children—a unique opportunity to meet 12 budding authors and discover the creative inspirations behind their storytelling. Reflecting a rich diversity of perspectives, the participating authors ranged from a talented 15-year-old young adult to a highly respected retired naval veteran. Attendees explored a wide array of genres, including gripping fiction, insightful biographies, historical narratives, and wellness guides. Station Mandovi’s staff and families participated wholeheartedly, turning the gathering into a resounding success while championing the authors on their journeys toward literary glory.
