Samba NDRF battalion headquarters site inspected by Chandraker Bharti

SAMBA, JULY 15: Principal Secretary of Home and the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Chandraker Bharti, visited Bela Manohar village in Samba today to inspect the land identified for the establishment of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Battalion Headquarters.

During the visit, Chandraker Bharti conducted a detailed assessment of the proposed site, reviewing key factors such as land availability, road connectivity, and other essential infrastructural requirements. He stressed the importance of completing all administrative formalities quickly to ensure the project begins without delay.

The inspection was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Samba, the Senior Superintendent of Police, the Commandant of the NDRF, representatives from the National Highways Authority of India, the concerned Executive Engineer, and other senior district administration officials.

During the walkthrough, the officials briefed the Principal Secretary on the current status of the project, highlighting matters related to land acquisition, road access, and utility requirements.Chandraker Bharti urged all stakeholder departments to maintain close coordination and work collaboratively to resolve any pending issues within a strict timeline.

Once completed, the new NDRF Battalion Headquarters in Bela Manohar is expected to substantially enhance disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities throughout the Jammu region, ensuring a faster and more efficient response to both natural and man-made calamities.
