CISF Partners with IIITDM Kancheepuram for Advanced Cyber Security Training

CHENNAI, July 11, 2026 — In a major step toward fortifying India’s critical national infrastructure, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. This strategic partnership establishes a specialized Cyber Security Training Programme for CISF personnel, which is scheduled to officially commence on July 20, 2026.

The formal agreement was signed by M. V. Karthikeyan, Director of IIITDM Kancheepuram, and Mithlesh Kumar, DIG of CISF RC RTC Thakkolam. The signing ceremony was attended by several senior dignitaries and academic leaders from IIITDM, including Jayabal K., Dean (DIICE), and A. Chidambaram, Registrar. The CISF was further represented at the event by Nilesh Kumar, Senior Commandant, along with a delegation of other senior CISF officers.

This institutional collaboration is designed to significantly enhance the CISF’s digital defense capabilities through specialized academic training and technical support. By leveraging IIITDM Kancheepuram’s expertise, the initiative aims to build robust in-house cyber proficiency, boost overall operational preparedness, and develop a highly skilled cadre of officers equipped to protect vital installations against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
