Amarnath Yatris Enjoy Free Ride on RAAHI Hop-On Hop-Off E-Buses in Jammu
JAMMU, JULY 06 — The District Administration Jammu today provided Amarnath Yatris with a complimentary ride on the newly introduced “RAAHI: Hop Jammu” e-bus service along its scenic Chenab Line. This special initiative offered pilgrims staying in the city a unique opportunity to explore Jammu’s rich cultural and heritage sites before continuing their journey toward the Kashmir Valley.
During the excursion, the group visited several prominent landmarks, including the historic Akhnoor Fort, Pandav Gufa, Jia Pota Ghat, Sant Baba Sunder Singh Ji Gurudwara, and the ancient Kameshwar Temple.
The RAAHI: Hop Jammu initiative features a fleet of modern, air-conditioned e-buses operating across four dedicated hop-on hop-off routes: Tirath, Chenab, Sarhad, and Fun Line. Together, these routes connect the city’s key temples, historical heritage sites, border landmarks, and recreational spots.
Service Rollout Update: Following prior successful trial runs on the Chenab Line to optimize timings and halts, today’s special ride will further help the administration fine-tune schedules and boarding locations.
Online bookings for all four routes are scheduled to open exclusively via online mode starting July 8. The service will transition into full commercial operation on July 10, introducing a daily pass that grants passengers unlimited hop-on hop-off access across the entire network. Once fully active, the e-buses will operate at regular intervals tailored to each route and will feature an on-board tour guide to assist passengers. Additional operational details will be released by the district administration shortly.
