Security Forces Launch Search Operation After Suspected Pakistani Drone Spotted Along Line of Control in Rajouri
JAMMU, July 6, 2026 :- Security forces launched a joint search operation early Monday morning following the sighting of a suspected Pakistani drone over a forward village along the Line of Control in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. Official sources stated that the drone-like object, which was fitted with a blinking light, was observed hovering over the forward villages of Meenka and Beripattan in the Sunderbani sector late Sunday night.
According to intelligence and security officials, the unmanned aerial vehicle briefly crossed into the Indian side of the border before returning to Pakistani territory. In response to the breach, security forces immediately cordoned off the entire border belt and initiated an extensive ground search at dawn to determine if the drone had dropped any payloads, including smuggled narcotics, cash, or weapons.
After hours of combing the rugged terrain, officials confirmed that no suspicious or objectionable items were recovered from the area.
