Dehradun Airport Security: Multi-Agency Mock Drill Simulates Terrorist Sabotage Attempt

DEHRADUN, JULY 04, 2026 — In a major initiative to bolster aviation security, a comprehensive multi-agency mock exercise was successfully conducted at Dehradun Airport to test and validate emergency response protocols. The realistic drill simulated a high-stakes contingency where terrorists attempted to sabotage vital airport installations. The exercise was designed to evaluate the real-time preparedness of security forces, streamline inter-agency communication, and enhance coordinated action during critical security threats.

The large-scale operation saw active participation from a total of 90 personnel representing key stakeholders, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), State Police, the Airports Authority of India (AAI), various commercial airlines, and emergency medical teams. Throughout the simulation, the participating units demonstrated prompt tactical responses, seamless coordination, and a high level of operational readiness in neutralizing the simulated threat and securing the perimeter.

These regular training exercises and realistic simulations play a vital role in continuously enhancing the CISF’s operational preparedness and response capabilities. By routinely pressure-testing emergency strategies, authorities ensure the robust protection of critical aviation infrastructure, maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for passengers, personnel, and daily airport operations.
