Cloudburst damages multiple houses in Mahore area of Reasi district

REASI, June 04, 2026: A cloudburst hit Batohi village in the Mahore sub-division of Reasi district on Thursday evening, triggering a sudden rush of water that damaged several houses in the area.

According to local residents, heavy rainfall in the upper reaches led to a sudden increase in water levels in the local stream, forcing the torrent into residential low-lying areas. The swift and powerful water flow swept through the neighborhood, causing structural damage and panic among the local population.

Cloudburst had occurred in Batohi village and caused partial damage to a few houses. no loss of life or injuries have been reported so far from the affected site.

Following the incident, the local administration urged residents to remain calm, avoid spreading rumors, and stay away from riverbanks, streams, and other vulnerable zones while teams assess the damage and prepare a detailed report.
