Indian Army hosts Drone manufacturers symposium to boost Indigenous Production

New Delhi, may 14, 2026 :- The Indian Army recently concluded a two-day Symposium of Drone Component Manufacturers held at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on May 12-13, 2026.

This significant event brought together a wide array of indigenous drone component manufacturers alongside high-ranking representatives from all commands of the Indian Army.

The primary objective of the gathering was to foster a more robust civil-military collaboration, specifically aimed at scaling up the domestic production of drone technology to meet the evolving operational requirements of the armed forces.

Throughout the symposium, participants engaged in detailed discussions to establish a strategic roadmap for enhancing both the quality and volume of drone manufacturing within the country.

A major highlight of the event was the official release of an SIDM Compendium of Indigenous Drone Component Manufacturers by the Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (CD&S).

The release of this compendium serves as a clear indication of the Indian Army’s dedication to achieving self-reliance in defense technology and ensuring the force is equipped with future-ready capabilities through indigenous innovation.
