Dr Vinod Kumar IPS Takes Over as Deputy Inspector General of Police for North Kashmir Range

BARAMULLA, APRIL 25: Dr. Vinod Kumar, IPS, officially assumed charge as the Deputy Inspector General of Police for the North Kashmir Range today at the Range Police Headquarters in Baramulla.

He takes over the key security position from Maqsood-ul-Zaman, IPS, who has been transitioned to a new assignment as DIG Armed Police, Kashmir.

Upon his arrival and assumption of office, the new DIG was briefed on the prevailing security situation and administrative functioning of the range, which covers critical districts in North Kashmir.

During his inaugural address to the officers and staff, Dr. Vinod Kumar underscored his firm commitment to providing dedicated, transparent, and corruption-free policing to the people of the region.

He highlighted that winning and maintaining public trust is the cornerstone of effective law enforcement and expressed his confidence in further strengthening the bond between the police and the community.

The DIG emphasized that his primary focus will be on maintaining peace, stability, and law and order across the North Kashmir Range through proactive and people-centric policing initiatives.
