Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Directs Relief Efforts for Doda Army Accident Victims
JAMMU, January 22, 2026 — Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed profound shock today following the devastating road accident on the Bhaderwah-Chamba road in Doda district, which resulted in the martyrdom of 10 Indian Army Jawans.
In an official statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Minister confirmed that he is personally coordinating with local and medical authorities to ensure the highest level of care for the survivors.
Dr. Singh stated that he has spoken with the Deputy Commissioner of Doda, Harvinder Singh, and Major General (Dr.) Sanjay Sharma, Incharge of the Command Hospital, to receive regular updates on the situation.
The accident occurred when an Army vehicle carrying troops plunged into a deep gorge, leaving 10 other soldiers with serious injuries.
These injured personnel have been shifted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur, where all possible medical assistance is being provided under the Minister’s close monitoring.
Conveying his heartfelt grief, Dr. Jitendra Singh offered his “deepest condolences” to the families of the fallen soldiers. He noted that “no words are enough to convey a deep sense of reverence” for the brave Jawans and their supreme sacrifice for the nation.
The civil and military administrations remain in a state of high alert to facilitate the ongoing medical and relief operations.
