SRINAGAR, Jan 19: According to the latest analysis from Kashmir Weather Forecast, the region is bracing for its first major snowfall of the season, with significant accumulations expected between the night of January 22 and the morning of January 24.
Meteorologists predict that moderate to heavy snowfall will blanket North and Central Kashmir on January 23, while the plains and middle reaches of South Kashmir are at risk of receiving heavy to very heavy snow during this period. Current projections suggest that snow accumulation in the South Kashmir plains could reach between 8 inches and 2 feet, marking a substantial winter event.
The weather system is also expected to bring a “good snow spell” to the central and northern plains, where accumulations are estimated to range from 6 inches to 1 foot. While the forecast is based on current data and local variations are possible, experts emphasize that a major snowfall event is highly likely.
Residents and travelers are advised to stay updated as the situation evolves, given that specific accumulation totals may vary across different areas in the coming days.
