SAMBA, JAN 18: In a decisive move to curb the unauthorized extraction of natural resources, the Samba Police successfully intercepted and seized six heavy-duty dumpers involved in illegal mining and transportation of construction materials across multiple sectors.
The operation was carried out by dedicated police teams led by the SHOs of Samba, Ramgarh, and Ghagwal police stations during intensive patrolling in their respective jurisdictions.
The seized vehicles, identified by registration numbers JK21G-6585, JK02BV-2458, JK21B-3737, JK21G-9265, JK08P-5812, and JK21G-0372, were caught red-handed transporting illegally mined minerals.
Following the seizure, the Samba Police officially handed over all six vehicles to the Geology and Mining Department for further legal proceedings and penalties. This latest action is part of an ongoing district-wide drive to protect the local ecology and ensure that all mining activities strictly adhere to government regulations.
Authorities have reiterated that stringent monitoring will continue to dismantle the network of illegal miners operating in the region.
