Samba Police Register 39 FIRs Against Property Owners for Failing Tenant Verification Norms
Samba January 16, 2026 :- In a major crackdown on security compliance, the Samba Police has registered 39 FIRs against house and landowners across the district for failing to provide details of their tenants and domestic helpers. The legal action follows a comprehensive verification drive launched during the year 2026, aimed at monitoring outsiders residing in the region.
Authorities emphasized that these property owners violated explicit orders from the District Magistrate Samba, which mandate police verification for all tenants to ensure regional security and public safety.The enforcement drive revealed significant lapses in several jurisdictions.
According to official data, the highest number of violations occurred in the industrial belt, with 28 cases registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana. Additionally, 08 cases were filed at Police Station Samba and 03 cases at Police Station Vijaypur.
All defaulters have been booked under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for non-compliance with government orders.SSP Samba has issued a stern warning to citizens, urging them to prioritize security by submitting complete details of their tenants and domestic helpers to the nearest police station immediately.
The police department highlighted that timely verification is not just a legal requirement but a crucial step in preventing criminal elements from finding shelter in residential areas. The district administration has signaled that the verification drive will continue with increased intensity, and any further negligence by landlords will result in strict penal consequences.
