KISHTWAR, January 9, 2026 — In a major push toward civic excellence, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma officially launched the Swachhtantra Campaign 2.0 today at the Mini Secretariat.
Organized by the Municipal Council in collaboration with the District Administration, the initiative serves as a high-profile prelude to the Republic Day 2026 celebrations. Operating under the theme “Pride in Democracy – Pride in Cleanliness,” the campaign aims to foster a deep sense of civic responsibility and environmental awareness among the citizens of the district.
The launch commenced with the Deputy Commissioner administering the “Swachhtantra Pledge” to a large gathering, including district department heads, Municipal Council officials, and frontline sanitation workers. Following the ceremony, an extensive cleanliness drive was executed across the DC Office Complex.
To further amplify the message, the Deputy Commissioner flagged off a Swachhta Awareness Rally that marched from the Mini Secretariat to the Dak Bunglow via Kuldeep Chowk.
Led by Executive Officer Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal and attended by senior officials including ADDC Vinod Kumar Behnal and ACR Idrees Lone, the rally underscored the community’s collective commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy Kishtwar.
