Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar reviews infrastructure and pilgrim facilities at Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board meeting
REASI, June 13, 2026 :- Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar chaired the 13th board meeting of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board to review the overall functioning of the holy shrine and discuss extensive measures for infrastructure upgradation.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek presented a detailed overview of the board’s administrative activities, pilgrim footfall, financial status, and the current progress of ongoing development works at Ransoo.
The Divisional Commissioner noted that sustained efforts are being made to expand amenities for devotees and directed that tenders for shops near the shrine and along the pilgrimage track be floated immediately. He also stressed the importance of installing CCTV cameras at key locations within the complex to enhance security surveillance.
Additionally, he reviewed the status of the helipad terminal building, instructing the Public Works Department to prepare a detailed project report for land leveling and allied infrastructure, while coordinating with helicopter service providers to operationalize flight services at the earliest.
Several on-the-spot approvals were granted for developmental works, with a strong focus on safety arrangements, including the installation of fire safety infrastructure around the helipad. The board discussed the construction of an alternate track from Ram Mandir to the Holy Cave to decongest the existing route during peak pilgrimage periods.
The Divisional Commissioner was also updated on the ongoing repair and renovation works at the existing track, Gouri Bhawan, and Shiv Shakti Bhawan.To further ensure the safety of visiting devotees, Kumar directed that a comprehensive safety audit of all bridges along the track be conducted.
Executing agencies were told to strictly monitor the quality of construction materials and adhere to project timelines, while the Tehsildar of Pouni was instructed to identify suitable state land for building a new Sarai for accommodations. The meeting concluded with a review of other proposed public utility projects, including waiting halls, overhead sheds, water supply systems, security checkpoints, and cafeteria buildings.
The meeting was attended by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board CEO Sachin Kumar Vaishya, SSP Reasi Mukund Tibrewal, and Director Tourism Vikas Gupta.
