BJP Launches State-Level Workshop in Jammu to Promote Viksit Bharat GRAM G Bill

JAMMU, January 9, 2026 — The Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hosted a comprehensive state-level workshop at its Jammu headquarters today to kickstart the “Viksit Bharat GRAM G” (VB-GRAM G) Janajagaran Abhiyan.

Presiding over the event, J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA) hailed the new VB-GRAM G Bill as a landmark reform designed to eliminate systemic irregularities previously seen in rural employment schemes.

Sharma emphasized that while previous initiatives like MGNREGA had merit, they were often marred by weak social audits and misuse. The new framework aims to rectify these flaws by offering 100 to 125 days of assured employment with a renewed focus on transparency, accountability, and the creation of high-quality rural infrastructure.

During the workshop, which featured a virtual address by National Secretary Om Prakash Dhankar, party leaders outlined a strategic roadmap to take this “dream project” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the grassroots level.

MLA RS Pathania noted that the bill marks a paradigm shift from mere wage-centric employment to outcome-oriented development, linking job creation directly to national priorities such as water conservation and agricultural infrastructure.

To ensure the message reaches every corner of the region, the BJP has appointed dedicated coordinators for the Kashmir, Jammu, Udhampur-Doda, and Anantnag constituencies.

These teams will organize rural choupals, district-level sammelans, and workshops to educate the public on how VB-GRAM G serves as a superior, digitally monitored growth engine for the rural economy.
