JAMMU, January 9, 2026 — Under the aggressive mandate of “Operation Sanjeevani,” the Jammu Police South Zone has secured a significant breakthrough in the high-profile narco-terror investigation linked to FIR No. 249/2025.
Following a meticulous and professional inquiry by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) supervised by SP City South and SDPO City South, a key operative identified as Rohit Kumar, alias Makhan, was apprehended in R.S. Pura on January 3.
This arrest led to a successful raid on his residence at Raiyan Kotliyan on January 7, where authorities recovered a Px5 Storm Beretta .30 bore pistol, a magazine, and three live rounds.
This case, originally registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar in November 2025, has already exposed a sophisticated inter-state and cross-border module involving jail-based facilitators and financial handlers.
With previous recoveries totaling nearly 5 kilograms of heroin and multiple firearms, this latest seizure further cements the link between narcotics trafficking and illegal arms smuggling.
The accused remains in police custody as investigators work to dismantle the remaining logistical channels and arms supply routes, reaffirming the Jammu Police’s commitment to neutralizing criminal ecosystems that threaten regional security.
