JAMMU January 8, 2026 In a decisive move to enhance road safety and enforce traffic discipline, the Jammu (Rural) Police have intensified their crackdown on negligent driving.
Acting on specific observations at Dansal Market, officers from the Jhajjar Kotli Police Station intercepted a mini-bus (registration No. JK02AD-1265) traveling from Manwal toward Domail. The vehicle was found to be dangerously overloaded, with several passengers seated on the rooftop, while being driven in a rash and negligent manner that posed a direct threat to human life and public safety.
Following the interception, the Jammu (Rural) Police officially booked the violators under the new legal framework. An FIR (No. 02/2026) has been registered at the Jhajjar Kotli Police Station under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities confirmed that a formal investigation is currently underway to ensure strict legal consequences for the offenders.
