Poonch Road Accident: Four Injured as Minibus Flips Near Mandi

Jammu, January 8, 2026: At least four individuals sustained injuries on Thursday morning after a minibus they were traveling in met with a road accident at Chaktroo, located near the Mandi police post in the Poonch district.

According to official reports, the driver of the passenger vehicle lost control while navigating the Chaktroo area, causing the minibus to turn turtle. Local authorities and bystanders immediately intervened, shifting all the injured persons to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The victims of the accident have been identified as 35-year-old Ruksana Kouser, wife of Tariq Khan from Trichal; 45-year-old Mohd Hanief, son of Mohd Din from Sathra; 20-year-old Mohd Tariq, the vehicle’s conductor from Mandi; and the 30-year-old driver, Mehboob Ahmed, son of Mohd Saleem. Following the incident, the Police arrived at the scene to assess the situation and have officially taken cognizance of the matter to determine the exact cause of the crash.
