LG Manoj Sinha Flags Off J&K Contingent for 29th National Youth Festival in New Delhi

JAMMU, Jan 7, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha virtually flagged off a 53-member youth contingent from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to participate in the 29th National Youth Festival—Viksit Bharat Young Leaders’ Dialogue-2026. Scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from January 10 to 12, the festival commemorates the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

The J&K contingent, selected through rigorous local competitions, will represent the region across the Viksit Bharat Challenge, Cultural, and Innovation tracks. This year’s restructured format aligns with the national vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047,” focusing on youth empowerment as the primary engine for India’s transformation into a developed nation.

During his interaction with the participants, Manoj Sinha emphasized that youth is defined by mindset, courage, and curiosity rather than age alone. Invoking the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, the Lieutenant Governor urged the delegates to pursue their dreams with singular focus and view every challenge as a lesson in discipline.

He highlighted that true leadership involves creating opportunities for others and called upon the youth to prioritize character-building and lifelong learning. Stressing their responsibility toward nation-building, he remarked that the determination and clarity shown by these young leaders would be the guiding force in achieving the goals of a developed India.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Commissioner Secretary Yasha Mudgal and Director General Anuradha Gupta.
