CM Omar Abdullah Lays Foundation Stone for Modern Dak Bungalow at Bagh-e-Bahu in Jammu

JAMMU, January 06, 2026 — Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today performed the foundation-laying ceremony for a new Public Works Department (R&B) Dak Bungalow at Bagh-e-Bahu, signaling a major boost to the region’s administrative infrastructure.

The event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary and Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, alongside senior engineers and dignitaries from the Public Works Department.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister underscored the government’s commitment to developing high-quality, contemporary infrastructure designed to meet both the functional needs of the administration and the service requirements of the public.

The proposed G+2 structure is envisioned as a state-of-the-art facility that blends modern aesthetics with practical utility. Once completed, the Dak Bungalow will feature a range of premium amenities, including multiple well-appointed suites, a dedicated VIP suite, a modern dining area, a reception, and a professional kitchen.

To ensure maximum comfort for visiting officials and dignitaries, the building will also be equipped with elevators, a gymnasium, a recreational hall, a meeting room, and full housekeeping facilities.

This project is expected to enhance the hospitality capacity of Jammu while providing a streamlined space for official gatherings and administrative functions.
