KPDCL Power Shutdown: Multiple Areas in Srinagar and Anantnag to Face Outages this Week
SRINAGAR, January 06, 2026 — The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has notified consumers of a series of scheduled power shutdowns across parts of Srinagar and Anantnag districts. These outages are necessary to facilitate vital maintenance on key transmission lines.
According to the Chief Engineer of Distribution, the 33 KV Wanpoh-Ashajipora and Wanpoh-Malaknag DC lines will be powered down on January 8 and 10, 2026, leading to a disruption in electricity for Ashajipora, Dialgam, Malaknag, Hazratbal, Brakpora, Doonipawa, and neighboring localities between 09 AM and 03 PM.In addition to the works in Anantnag, significant maintenance will be conducted on the 33 KV Bemina-Fateh Kadal and 33 KV Bemina-Barbarshah lines in the capital.
This will result in power supply interruptions for residents of Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, BB Shah, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisarak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basant Bagh, and the Maisuma area. These specific shutdowns are slated for January 8, 12, and 15, 2026, and will last from 10 AM until 03 PM.
KPDCL officials urge residents to prepare for these interruptions and have expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused by these essential grid upgrades.
