SRINAGAR 31 December :- The Srinagar Airport Authority has issued an urgent travel update via social media, informing passengers of multiple flight cancellations today due to deteriorating weather conditions and operational challenges.
A significant disruption includes the Air India Express flight IX 1271/1272, which operates on the Jammu–Srinagar–Delhi route. Originally scheduled to arrive at 1:45 PM and depart at 2:20 PM, the flight has been grounded due to anticipated adverse weather at Jammu Airport (IXJ). Authorities expressed regret for the inconvenience and have advised travelers booked on this service to contact the airline immediately for rebooking or alternative assistance.
In addition to the Air India Express cancellation, airport officials noted that several other flights have been called off for the day, citing a combination of weather-related risks and internal operational reasons.
Passengers are being strongly urged to reconfirm their flight status with their respective airlines before departing for the airport to avoid being stranded at the terminal. The Srinagar Airport Authority is closely monitoring the situation and has committed to sharing real-time updates as weather patterns evolve.
This advisory follows a series of regional travel disruptions caused by the prevailing winter chill and fluctuating visibility across the Union Territory.
