Lieutenant Governor Unveils J&K Bank Calendar 2026 Highlighting Rivers and Heritage
JAMMU 30 December :- In a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha officially released the J&K Bank Wall and Table Calendars for the year 2026.
This year’s editions are centered on themes that celebrate the geographical and cultural wealth of the region, with the Wall Calendar titled “Rivers of J&K and Ladakh” and the Table Calendar focusing on “Historic Places.” By showcasing these natural wonders and architectural landmarks, the calendars aim to foster a deeper appreciation for the diverse human heritage and ecological significance of the twin Union Territories.
During the unveiling, the Lieutenant Governor commended J&K Bank for choosing themes that promote the preservation of ancient monuments and archaeological sites. He underscored the critical importance of rivers, noting that they are not only primary sources of fresh water but also vital for food security and biodiversity conservation.
Sinha issued a call for collective community action to safeguard these ecosystems, highlighting that protecting water bodies is essential for building resilience against future climate impacts.
Amitava Chatterjee, Managing Director and CEO of J&K Bank, briefed the audience that the 2026 calendars are designed to honor the lifelines of the region and the shared legacy of its people.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the calendar serves as an information hub for public welfare initiatives like Mission YUVA and the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. It also highlights key financial products, including housing and car loans, reinforcing the bank’s commitment as a primary development partner and facilitator of the aspirations of the people of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
