KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown in Srinagar and Baramulla Districts: Check Affected Areas and Timings

SRINAGAR, Dec 30: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has notified the general public regarding scheduled power shutdowns required for maintenance and repair works on several high-tension lines.

According to the official communiqué, the 33 kV Exhibition line will undergo a shutdown on January 3, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 03:00 PM. This maintenance work will temporarily disrupt the electricity supply to Iqbalabad, Towheedabad, Hamdania Colony, Nundresh Colony, and adjacent localities. Residents in these areas are advised to plan their activities accordingly during this three-hour window.

Furthermore, a separate shutdown has been scheduled for the 33 KV Shariefabad-Wadwan line on January 3, 2026. Power supply will be affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM across several villages and neighborhoods, including Shariefabad, Durbal, Hanjik, Soibugh, Haran, Bonpora, Astanpora, Wadwan, Dharmuna, Russu, Gopora, Pymus, and surrounding areas.

This five-hour maintenance period is aimed at ensuring the long-term stability of the distribution network in the central Kashmir region.In addition to these, the 33 KV Nihalpora-Gulmarg line will remain shut on January 4 and January 7, 2026, to facilitate essential technical works.

During these two days, power supply will be suspended from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM in various areas of North Kashmir, including Reram, Chandilora, Watnoo, Tangmarg, Kralweth, Mulgam, Ferozpora, Rangawali, Kulhama, Shai, Buderkoot, Gulmarg, Khyber, Chandi, Wanigam, Malgam, Malpora, and adjoining sectors.

KPDCL has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to consumers and maintains that these shutdowns are vital for the upkeep of the power infrastructure.
