Deputy CM Inaugurates Sadda Nallah Steel Bridge and Lays Foundation for Kalakote Inspection Hut

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 28: In a major push for rural infrastructure, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary today inaugurated a 45-metre span single-lane steel motorable bridge over the Sadda Nallah at Mangrote.

The inauguration marks a vital breakthrough for regional connectivity, providing the local population with reliable, all-weather access and eliminating long-standing transportation hurdles.

Accompanied by MLA Budhal Javed Iqbal Choudhary, MLA Kalakote Thakur Randhir Singh, and local DDC members, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the government is dedicated to bridging infrastructural gaps in remote areas to ensure that development reaches every corner of the Union Territory.

Continuing the developmental momentum, Surinder Choudhary also laid the foundation stone for a new inspection hut and allied administrative works at Sadda, Kalakote. He noted that this facility would enhance the government’s administrative presence in the region, allowing for better monitoring and faster implementation of ongoing projects.

During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister engaged directly with local residents to hear their grievances, reaffirming a proactive, people-centric governance model focused on time-bound solutions for grassroots issues.

Both local MLAs lauded the administration’s efforts, noting that these projects are essential for improving the quality of life and socio-economic prospects of far-flung constituencies.

The newly commissioned bridge was hailed by the general public as a transformative achievement that addresses a long-pending demand for safer and more efficient travel. By replacing hazardous crossings with a modern steel structure, the project is expected to significantly boost local trade and accessibility.

Community members expressed their gratitude to the government for prioritizing infrastructure that supports both commuter safety and effective administrative oversight, marking a new chapter of progress for the Mangrote and Kalakote regions.
