CEO J&K Attends Annual General Meeting of Jammu Home for Aged & Infirm; New Leadership Elected

JAMMU, DECEMBER 28: The Home for the Aged & Infirm in Ambphalla held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, marking a significant transition in leadership and the expansion of its humanitarian services.

Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu & Kashmir, Sanjeev Verma, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The session commenced with heartfelt tributes to the late I.D. Soni, the former President of the Home, and deceased inmates.

In the absence of the President and Vice President, the meeting was presided over by the senior-most member and Patron, Prem Gupta (IGP Retd.). During the proceedings, the General Body reviewed and approved the annual report and audited accounts for the 2024–25 financial year, while also greenlighting the budget for the upcoming 2025–26 period.A major highlight of the meeting was the unanimous election of a new management team, with Engineer Pankaj Gupta appointed as President and Dr. Dinesh Gupta as Secretary for a three-year term.

The House also approved several critical welfare initiatives, including the establishment of a free Allopathic Dispensary and the revival of a free Physiotherapy Centre in collaboration with the Savitri Devi Jagiri Lal Charitable Trust. Additionally, the members confirmed revised membership fees and approved a proposal for the renovation and painting of the residential blocks, ideally to be funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, Sanjeev Verma lauded the institution for its unwavering commitment to the dignity and welfare of senior citizens. He specifically commended the donors whose contributions sustain the facility’s essential services and assured continued administrative support for such noble causes. The event also served as a platform to honor long-term dedication; Pritam Chand, who served as a warden for 35 years, was presented with a citation and a cash prize of 11,000 in recognition of his exemplary service to the elderly residents.
