GDC Kathua XI Dominates DIC XI to Secure Six-Wicket Victory in Kathua Admin Cup
KATHUA, DECEMBER 28: GDC Kathua XI showcased a masterclass in balanced cricket today, cruising to a convincing six-wicket win over DIC XI in the fourth match of the Kathua Admin Cup Cricket Tournament. Played at the GDC Kathua playground, the match saw DIC XI win the toss and elect to bat, but they struggled to find momentum against a disciplined bowling attack.
Despite a brisk 32-run contribution from Vishav Partap and steady efforts from Gagan Deep and Narayan Singh, DIC XI was restricted to a modest total of 111/9 in their allotted 20 overs. The standout performer was Yasir, whose lethal spell of 4 wickets for just 11 runs dismantled the middle order, while Umar provided vital support with three scalps.
The run chase proved to be a comfortable affair for GDC Kathua XI, as they reached the target in just 15.5 overs. Opener Gautam Singh played a composed, unbeaten knock of 37 runs, anchoring the innings and ensuring there were no late hiccups.
Although DIC XI bowlers Gagan Deep and Mushtaq Chaudhary picked up two wickets each in an attempt to spark a comeback, the target was never enough to threaten the home side. For his game-changing bowling performance that set the tone for the match, Yasir was deservedly named Man of the Match.
The victory cements GDC Kathua XI’s position as a strong contender in the tournament, highlighting their prowess in both departments.
