Gulmarg Snow Stunt Crackdown: J&K Police Seize Vehicles and Register FIRs
Srinagar 27 December :- The Jammu & Kashmir Police have launched a decisive crackdown on reckless driving in the world-famous ski resort of Gulmarg, seizing two vehicles after drivers were caught performing dangerous stunts on snow-covered roads.
Following reports of life-threatening maneuvers that endangered both pedestrians and tourists, Police Station Gulmarg registered FIR No. 19/2025 under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
The accused, identified as residents of Srinagar, were apprehended on the spot, and their vehicles (registration numbers JK01BB-3417 and JK01AP-5151) were impounded as part of the legal proceedings.
Beyond the immediate legal repercussions, the police provided formal counseling to the individuals, issuing a stern warning against the repeat of such “thrill-seeking” behavior that compromises public safety.
Authorities highlighted the extreme risks associated with slippery road conditions during the winter season and urged all motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations.
J&K Police have appealed to the public, particularly young drivers, to prioritize the safety of locals and visitors, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining Gulmarg as a secure and orderly destination for all.
