Satish Sharma Kickstarts Big JK Premier League in Jammu; Conducts Surprise Inspections of Key Government Offices

JAMMU, December 26, 2025: Highlighting the administration’s dual focus on youth empowerment and administrative accountability, Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Transport, and IT, Satish Sharma, inaugurated the Big Jammu & Kashmir Premier League (JKPL) today in Jammu.

Addressing a vibrant gathering, the Minister emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Union Territory is rapidly evolving into a premier hub for sports excellence. He noted that platforms like the JKPL are essential for discovering grassroots talent and providing young athletes with the competitive exposure needed to channel their energy productively.

Sharma reiterated that the government is heavily investing in robust infrastructure, including modern stadiums and training facilities, to foster a sustainable sports culture across the region.Following the inaugural event, the Minister shifted focus to governance by conducting a series of surprise inspections at several high-profile government offices. He visited the Transport Commissioner’s Office, the J&K Road Transport Corporation (RTC), and the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Jammu, where he personally scrutinized staff attendance, punctuality, and the overall work culture.

During his interaction with the staff, he issued strict directives to ensure that public service delivery remains transparent and that all citizen grievances are resolved in a time-bound manner without causing any inconvenience to the common man.The Minister concluded his tour with a visit to the Office of Science and Technology, Jammu, where he reviewed the progress of ongoing technology-driven initiatives.

Stressing the importance of innovation and digitization, Sharma called for the implementation of scientific solutions to streamline governance and enhance youth engagement. He reaffirmed that the government’s primary objective remains making every department more efficient and accountable, viewing sports, technology, and transparent administration as the key drivers for the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
