KATHUA, December 26, 2025: Amid the prevailing security landscape and the onset of the winter season, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua, Mohita Sharma-IPS, conducted an extensive security assessment of the Billawar and Malhar areas today. Accompanied by SP Upper Kathua, SDPO Billawar, and other senior officials, the SSP’s visit was primarily focused on reviewing the winter security strategy and ensuring high operational alertness ahead of the upcoming New Year celebrations.
The high-level delegation inspected the Guddu Falal and Katli regions to evaluate ground-level deployments and the readiness of the Special Operations Group (SOG) units stationed in these sensitive hilly terrains.During her interaction with the SOG jawans, SSP Mohita Sharma personally scrutinized their operational preparedness and briefed the field personnel on the necessity of maintaining unwavering vigilance.
She issued strict directives regarding the adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs), emphasizing that precision and discipline are vital to successful missions. SP Upper Kathua provided a detailed briefing on the specific strategies being employed to neutralize the designs of Anti-National Elements (ANEs), while also highlighting the logistical and operational requirements of the personnel working in the field.
Concluding the review, SSP Kathua underscored that robust inter-agency coordination is the backbone of a secure environment. She urged all territorial officers and specialized units to remain proactive and extra vigilant in their respective jurisdictions to thwart any potential threats. By focusing on enhanced intelligence sharing and field mobility, the Kathua Police aims to ensure a peaceful environment for the public while maintaining a dominant security posture across the district’s diverse landscape.
