J&K Police Organizes Vital Cyber Awareness Workshop at 10 RR Army HQ in Doda
Doda 26 December :- In a proactive move to combat the rising tide of digital fraud, the Cyber Police Station Doda conducted a comprehensive Cyber Awareness Workshop at the 10 RR Army Headquarters today. Organized under the direct supervision of SSP Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta, JKPS, the initiative aimed to equip both Army personnel and local residents with the necessary tools to navigate the digital landscape safely. The event saw a significant turnout, highlighting the community’s growing concern over cyber security and the importance of collaborative vigilance between security forces and the public.
During the session, PSI Ankush Nagra delivered an in-depth lecture detailing the evolving tactics used by fraudsters to target unsuspecting individuals. Participants were educated on common scams, including credit card fraud, OTP theft, QR code scams, and deceptive online gaming or loan schemes designed to siphon off hard-earned money. Beyond financial safety, the workshop emphasized the critical need for social media security, urging attendees to protect their accounts and exercise extreme caution when interacting with strangers on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. This program is part of an ongoing mission by the J&K Police to fortify the region against cybercrimes and ensure that the “net” of fraudsters remains empty.
