JAMMU/KASHMIR, DECEMBER 25, 2025: The Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized widespread commemorative events across the Union Territory today to pay heartfelt tributes to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on his 101st Jayanti. Led by senior leadership, party workers gathered at the booth level to recall the unparalleled contributions of the legendary statesman to Indian politics and society.
J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, alongside General Secretary Gopal Mahajan and other senior leaders, led the floral tribute ceremony at Booth No. 10 in Kathua. Simultaneously, General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul joined party workers at Booth No. 40 in Hiranagar Mandal to honor the visionary leader, marking the day as a reaffirmation of the party’s commitment to the philosophy of people-oriented governance.
During the events, Sat Sharma described Vajpayee as a national icon whose commitment to democratic values and consensus-building earned him admiration across the political spectrum. He specifically highlighted the former Prime Minister’s pioneering role in revolutionizing India’s infrastructure, noting that his focus on national highways and rural road connectivity laid the essential groundwork for economic integration and the development of remote regions.
Echoing these sentiments, Ashok Koul stated that the observance of “Atal Smriti Varsh” serves to remind the public of a governance model that is compassionate, transparent, and focused on the common man.
