JAMMU, DECEMBER 20, 2025: In a major success under the ongoing Operation Kamdhenu, the Jammu (Rural) Police foiled two separate bovine smuggling attempts within the jurisdiction of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli on Saturday.
Acting on specific intelligence, police teams intercepted two vehicles at different locations, discovering a total of 10 bovine animals being transported illegally without any valid permits. The first vehicle, a Mahindra Bolero (JK19A-1567), was found carrying four animals, while the second vehicle (JK19A-2998) was found with six bovines. All animals were safely rescued and shifted to the police station, where authorities ensured they were provided with proper fodder and water.

A second case, FIR No. 143/2025, was filed regarding the second vehicle; however, the driver managed to escape into the darkness and remains at large. Both vehicles involved in the illicit trade have been seized, and an intensive investigation is currently underway to track down the fleeing suspect and dismantle the local smuggling network.
