Srinagar Youth Join Cyclothon to Support Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Campaign

Srinagar, April 17, 2026:- The District Youth Services and Sports Office of Srinagar organized a high-energy cyclothon today as part of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, aimed at fostering a drug-free society and promoting healthy lifestyles among the youth.

The event was officially flagged off by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Ghulam Hassan Lone, from the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre.

More than 300 participants, including students, parents, and various community stakeholders, took part in the ride, demonstrating a unified front against the growing challenges of substance abuse in the region.

The procession traveled along the scenic banks of Dal Lake, drawing public attention to the importance of physical fitness and mental well-being in overcoming social menaces.

During his address to the gathering, Ghulam Hassan Lone underscored the critical role that the younger generation plays in the success of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan.

He called upon the students to serve as ambassadors within their own circles to spread awareness and help eradicate the stigma and prevalence of drugs.

The cyclothon reached its conclusion at the historic Nishat Garden, where a formal ceremony was held to honor the participants.

Awards were distributed to the students to recognize their commitment to the cause, and the event ended with a collective pledge by all attendees to work tirelessly toward a healthier, safer, and entirely drug-free community.
