SRINAGAR, JUNE 09: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, chaired a high-level review meeting on Tuesday to evaluate the physical and financial progress of ongoing developmental projects under the Srinagar Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (SMRDA). Attended by top officials—including the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Commissioner Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), and Vice Chairman Srinagar Development Authority (SDA)—the meeting focused on accelerating regional infrastructure. Officials revealed that out of a total approved Capex outlay of ₹2,702 lakh for the 2025-26 financial year, ₹846 lakh has already been released. Performance updates highlighted steady momentum: out of 15 active projects, one is fully completed, seven have achieved physical completion, and another six are on track for completion by the end of the 2026-27 financial year.
During the session, Garg conducted a thorough review of key infrastructure initiatives, including the upgradation of the General Bus Stand and Transport Nagar at Parimpora under the SASCI Project, the construction of community halls and facilities across Srinagar, and various developmental works spanning the Ganderbal and Budgam districts. Stressing the critical need for swift execution, the Divisional Commissioner directed implementing agencies to ensure the timely completion of all projects without compromising on strict quality standards. To prevent any bottlenecks and facilitate seamless, rapid progress, Garg also approved the immediate release of funds for the ongoing works.
