Reasi Police register three NDPS cases under Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan
REASI, July 5, 2026:- Continuing its sustained drive against drug abuse under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, Reasi Police registered three separate cases under the NDPS Act against individuals found consuming narcotic substances at different locations in the district. Acting on reliable information, a police team from Police Post Talwara apprehended Kulbir Singh, a resident of Seela, Reasi, near Sihad Baba for allegedly consuming narcotic substances.
A medical examination conducted via a Rapid Multi-Drug Urine Test Kit confirmed the accused tested positive for Cannabis, leading to the registration of FIR No. 128/2026 under Section 8/27 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Reasi.In a similar action near Sihad Baba, the police apprehended Dinesh Singh, also a resident of Seela, Reasi.
A medical examination confirmed that he was under the influence of Cannabis, and consequently, FIR No. 129/2026 under Section 8/27 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Reasi. In a separate incident, authorities from Police Station Reasi acted on reliable information to apprehend Tarun Sharma, a resident of Trintha, Reasi, near Trintha. He was subjected to a medical examination through the Rapid Multi-Drug Urine Test Kit, which confirmed he was under the influence of Opium, resulting in the registration of FIR No. 130/2026 under Section 8/27 of the NDPS Act.Investigations in all three cases are currently underway to ascertain the source of the narcotic substances.
Reasi Police reiterated their commitment to achieving a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir, affirming that they will continue to take firm legal action against drug abuse and narcotics-related offenses. The department also requested the public to extend full cooperation by sharing any information related to drug trafficking or consumption with their nearest police station.
