DC Doda Krishan Lal Assesses Preparations for Annual Kailash Yatra 2026 in Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH, JULY 5 — In a bid to ensure a safe, smooth, and successful pilgrimage, the Deputy Commissioner of Doda, Krishan Lal, chaired a high-level review meeting at the Dak Bungalow in Bhaderwah to assess the overall preparedness for the upcoming Annual Kailash Yatra 2026. The meeting involved extensive discussions on key operational requirements, including security protocols, traffic management, medical services, sanitation, potable water, power supply, communication networks, road repairs, and the installation of temporary shelters and washrooms along the transit route. Emphasizing strict time management, the Deputy Commissioner directed all line departments to finalize their respective logistical setups well ahead of the yatra’s commencement. Specifically, the health department was instructed to station two oxygen-equipped medical teams alongside a mobile medical unit from the Kellar side to deliver round-the-clock emergency assistance, while the security grid planned a robust deployment of personnel at highly sensitive locations like Kailash Kund and Hayan, supplemented by strategically positioned solar lights to guarantee visibility and safety during nighttime travel.

Driven by an administrative commitment to ecological preservation and public comfort, the Deputy Commissioner placed heavy emphasis on strict environmental sustainability, ordering specialized teams to execute rigorous waste management and maintain cleanliness across the fragile, high-altitude ecosystem of the pilgrimage circuit. The meeting saw active participation from key administrative stakeholders—including Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, representatives of the Border Roads Organisation, and local municipal and forest officials—alongside prominent religious bodies such as the Sanatan Dharma Sabha, Kailash Sewa Sang Trust, and the J&K Dharmarth Trust. Calling for close inter-departmental synergy and emergency response preparedness, DC Doda urged the administrative machinery and the local populace to extend their traditional warmth and hospitality to the visiting devotees, expressing absolute confidence that collective community support and meticulous planning will culminate in a peaceful and spiritually enriching Kailash Yatra 2026.
