J&K Weather Update Predicts Rain and Humid Conditions Across Jammu and Kashmir
SRINAGAR July 05 — The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has issued a weather forecast and safety advisory indicating hot and humid conditions mixed with scattered rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir.
On July 5, generally hot and humid weather is expected, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely at scattered places in the Jammu division and isolated areas of the Kashmir division during the late night and early morning hours. Brief, intense heavy showers or thunderstorms are also anticipated in parts of the Jammu and Reasi districts.
A shift in the weather pattern is forecast between July 6 and July 8, during which many places across the region will experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers alongside continued hot and humid conditions. Heavy rain and brief, intense spells of heavy showers or thunderstorms are expected at isolated locations within the Jammu division, occurring primarily during the late afternoon, evening, and early morning periods. Similar weather conditions featuring scattered light to moderate thundershowers and brief heavy downpours will persist from July 9 through July 11.
In response to the expected precipitation, weather officials have issued an advisory warning that heavy rainfall and intense showers between July 6 and July 7 could trigger localized flash floods, landslides, and mudslides in vulnerable areas.
Members of the public are strongly advised to remain cautious and stay away from local streams, nallahs, and zones known to be prone to mudslides or landslides during this period.
