COAS General Dhiraj Seth Meets CM Omar Abdullah in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, JULY 07: In a significant high-level engagement, the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Dhiraj Seth, called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at his official residence in Srinagar today. The meeting, described primarily as a courtesy call, follows General Seth’s recent assumption of charge as the 31st Chief of the Army Staff on June 30. This visit marks one of his inaugural official engagements in the region after taking over the helm of the Indian Army, emphasizing the strategic importance of civil-military coordination in the territory.

General Dhiraj Seth was accompanied by a high-level military delegation, including the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps (Chinar Corps), Lieutenant General Balbir Singh, alongside other senior Army commanders. During the interaction, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah extended his warmest greetings to General Seth on ascending to the prestigious military appointment. The Chief Minister conveyed his best wishes for a successful tenure, emphasizing smooth collaboration as the General steps into his new responsibilities overseeing national security and regional stability.
