Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026: LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Security and Amenities as Darshan Count Crosses 1.13 Lakh
SRINAGAR, JULY 07: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress and logistics of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, which has already seen over 1.13 lakh devotees perform darshan at the holy cave. Attended by top administration officials—including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and SASB CEO Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari—the meeting focused heavily on maintaining strict safety standards and seamless on-ground assistance.
LG Sinha directed senior officers to ensure all pilgrims are properly registered and well-assisted, emphasizing that hassle-free darshan of Baba Barfani remains the administration’s top priority. Highlighting the yatra as a reflection of India’s enduring civilizational heritage, the Lieutenant Governor called for robust civil-military and inter-departmental coordination to set a new nationwide benchmark for spiritual tourism.
Beyond security and safety, the high-level review scrutinized the 24×7 Control Room operations at Lok Bhavan, monitoring everything from security personnel deployments and langar functions to queue management systems across the pilgrimage routes. LG Sinha urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to make the 2026 pilgrimage historic, positioning it as a model for holy yatras across the country. Additionally, he appealed to incoming devotees to immerse themselves in both the spiritual bliss of Lord Shiva’s abode and the rich cultural fabric of Jammu and Kashmir.
By encouraging pilgrims to embrace local hospitality and support traditional arts, crafts, and products, the Lieutenant Governor noted that the pilgrimage would successfully blend a profound spiritual journey with a meaningful boost to the local economy and heritage.
